5 Axis Mills

Productivity has been a trusted partner to small and large companies – those who are trying to make something – since 1968. Our team’s mission is to exceed your expectations and help you achieve greater efficiency. We value building lasting relationships based on integrity and expertise and aim to deliver the best possible service and support. From compact 5-axis vertical mills to full 5-axis machining centers with pallet changers and automation, we help you find the right solution for your production goals.

Why 5 Axis?

5-axis milling machines deliver unmatched precision, flexibility, and efficiency for complex part geometries and multi-surface machining. By allowing simultaneous movement across all five axes, these machines reduce setups, improve accuracy, and enable the production of intricate parts in a single operation.

At Productivity, we distribute industry-leading 5-axis CNC mills from top manufacturers like Matsuura, Makino, and Haas. Whether you’re in aerospace, medical, mold & die, or high-precision manufacturing, our team provides expert guidance, integration, training, and ongoing support to ensure your 5-axis investment delivers maximum ROI.

Common Types of 5-Axis Machines

Trunnion-Style (Table/Table)

The workpiece sits on a tilting rotary table (A and C axes) under a 3-axis spindle.
Common for complex parts requiring heavy material removal and access to multiple sides.

Swivel Head (Head/Table or Head/Head)

The spindle tilts and rotates (A/B or B/C axes), while the table may rotate.
Excellent for larger parts or when the part is too heavy to tilt easily.

Gantry/Bridge-Style 5-Axis

Ideal for large aerospace or mold & die workpieces requiring contouring and surface blending.

Hybrid Mill-Turn Machines

Combine 5-axis milling with turning capabilities—used for round parts with complex features.
