Cosen Saws is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of band saws for metal cutting, offering over 140 models across manual, semi-automatic, and fully automated systems. Their machines deliver exceptional cutting accuracy, efficiency, and durability for fabrication, steel service centers, and production environments.
With robust designs and advanced control technology, Cosen band saws provide smooth operation, long blade life, and excellent surface finish.
Why Choose Cosen:
- Full range of horizontal, vertical, and automatic saws
- Smart NC control for repeatable, efficient cutting
- Proven value and performance for production shops
Cosen saws are designed for:
- Carbon and alloy steels (including tool steel, structural steel) — e.g., for service centers and fabrication shops.
- Stainless steel and high‐alloy materials (nickel alloys, super-alloys) such as titanium, Hastelloy, Inconel, Stainless Steel etc.
- Non‐ferrous metals like aluminum or copper. For example: Cosen’s solutions for cutting aluminum mention grades such as 6061, 6063, 6070.
- Special or “difficult” materials: Such as cutting graphite, tires, slag, honeycomb panels, ceramic steel, steel-aluminum cladded plates.
- Structural profiles and beams: E.g., “H beams, I beams, profiles, channels and angles” in the structural fabrication context.
In short, these machines are built with versatility in mind: from everyday steel and aluminium to exotic alloys and specialty materials.
Factors to consider:
While Cosen saws can cut many materials, successful cutting depends on matching the machine, blade, feeds/speeds, work-holding and coolant to the material. Our experienced team is available to discuss your specific needs for your application
- Hardness / alloy content: Cutting titanium, Inconel, super-alloys is more demanding (blade life, saw rigidity, power, chip control) — Cosen is a great choice hard materials
- Blade selection: For different materials (ferrous vs non-ferrous vs composite) you need different blade geometry/tooth form/coating. For example, for cutting aluminium, big tooth blades create the right amount of clearance.
- Feeds/speeds & machine capability: For non‐ferrous aluminium you might run higher blade speeds; for hard alloys lower speeds and more coolant/rigidity. Cosen’s V_Drive technology cuts harder more dense materials like Titanium, Hastelloy at significantly increased rates.
- Workpiece size / machine capacity: Material size (diameter, thickness) must fit the machine’s capacity (e.g., round capacity, rectangle capacity) so you don’t exceed the machine’s capability.
- Special material characteristics: When cutting things like ceramic-steel cladded plates, honeycomb panels, or graphite, you may need special fixtures, blade designs or saw modifications.
A Cosen band saw is suitable for cutting a very wide range of materials including standard carbon/structural steel, stainless/high-alloy steels (including titanium), non‐ferrous metals (aluminium, copper), and specialty materials (composites, ceramic-steel clads, graphite etc.).
